    Default Some Caleta shots!

Uppersides of the Pierrots are notoriously difficult, indeed, I had not managed any before.

LD12) Upperside Caleta roxus roxana (Straight Pierrot)
LD13) Upperside of Caleta elna noliteia (Elbowed Pierrot)
LD14) Upperside which shows a variation in the hindwing black marginal area. If I remember correctly, Caleta roxus again.

Antonio, I know you were looking for Caleta decidia decidia (Angled Pierrot) without success, so was I. One was there, but I failed to notice it in the melee of other Caleta species. I only saw it when back home!

LD15) Caleta decidia decidia - look at the middle specimen!

    Default Charaxes males

Help please regarding these male Charaxes. I am rather confused!

LD16) I think these are Charaxes bernadus hierax male f. heirax. Upper & Underside.
LD17) I think these are Charaxes bernadus hierax male f. hipponax. Upper & Underside.
LD18-20) Do I have 1 or 2 species here. I am certain that at least one is a male Charaxes aristogiton aristogiton, but the hindwing markings differ in each specimen! Uppersides only.

How about this (shot on 7 Nov at Chiang Dao) ? It looks like Les's LD18-20.

CD32. Lexias dirtea bontouxi (Black-tip Archduke)

CD33. Is this Polyura arja arja (Pallid Nawab) ?

CD34. Atrophaneura polyeuctes polyeuctes (Common Windmill) - too skittish for us to take a good shot of it.

    CD35. Psolos fuligo subfasciatus ?

CD36. Halpe hauxwelli (Pale Marked Ace) ?

I am too slow...still chasing Fed and others. And I try not to post the same picture again.

Just a few I guess can consider as ok.

Kallima inachus siamensis (The Orange Oakleaf)

Polyura nepenthes nepenthes (The Shan Nawab)

Rohana parisatis siamensis (The Siamese Black Prince)

    Catapaecilma subochrea (The Yellow Tinsel)

Stunning shots! The Kallima inachus siamensis was so beautiful. Nice to see the variety of Charaxes, Les. Was Charaxes aristogiton a new one for you? Charaxes is certainly a diverse genus. I would love to try for some of the African species someday.

    Post 46.

LD16 topside male f- hierax is right. HW with large black submarginal spots. Another f-corax have the spots small.
Underside . Uncertain if this is f-hierax .(It is if f-corax is absent.) Link shows f-hierax with some highlighted spots.

LD17 topside male f-hipponax is right .FW white band without white marginal spots.
Underside. f-pleistoanax. Topside with white spots & underside with white band. (Band in f-hipponax is ochreous.)

LD 18, 19 ,20 are forms of C. aristogiton. FW with breakaway tawny margin & separated spots in hte subapical area.

LD18 is easily confused witn C. harmodius which have the black border scalloped.

THe forms of C. bernardus hierax. ( Underside of f-corax is not shown.)
