In the spirit of science, there really is no such thing as a 'failed experiment.' Any test that yields valid data is a valid test.

New Price for both lens as of 27th Feb with price increasing of Canon factored in :

    C180 $2180

    T180 $1080

Which one will you pick in hard time like this??

Both lens are equally sharp with the T180 having a slight edge in edge sharpness and bokeh due to a narrower FOV.

Both lens are equally slow in AF in comparison with other lens when they have to search through the whole 180mm . With Canon having an edge on AF due to the ring USM and a range limiter.

    Pros and cons :

C180 build quality , faster focus, double the Price of T180.

T180 two for the prices of one, plastic construction , slower focus .

$$ is always a factor , those who said $$$ is no factor are just hypocritical! So in terms of cost performance, a rational decision is the T180.
