Moths in India is just way too difficult and there few resources to check out the species.

Thankfully Antheraea have only a few large species.

    1 is correctly A. assamensis.
The upperside is purple brown & the marginal zone distinctly paler.

You need to download the pdf article Atlanta 47. for the rest.
What exactly is Antheraea paphia ?

    2 is A. frithi female.

    The rest 3 - 6 are males A. frithi.
They have strong scalloped postmedials & a yellow oval patch near the apex.

    A. helferi have a 'black eyelid' on the HW eyespot.

In A frithi female the FW ocellus may have a short bar running to the costa.
The FW may show some scallopped lines like the male.
SEE page 514 fig 33 female & page 513 males.

    TL Seow: Cheers.
