    Default UFO skipper

    Encountered this sun-bathing skipper today.
I was puzzling over its two tiny spots in the hindwing.

Dr Seow, please assist with the species ID. Isma sp.?

    Female Parnara bada.

It appears P. bada have a very variable number of spots on the HW.
Often the spots are reduced in number & size.
    Female Sunny's.

Your previous set specimens I am not sure . Looks like P. bada but the wingshape is sharper.
Not sure if P. ganga have reduced HW spots.
Too many erroneous images on the web make it very confusing.

    TL Seow : Cheers.

Thanks, Dr Seow for the quick reply and the species ID.

Looks like we can confirm the existence of P. bada given the multiple sightings over the last 2-3 years.
