Default Sa Khaeo (Pang Sida and Ta Phraya National Parks) - East Thailand

A (new for me) but very famous butterfly destination in central-East Thailand.

And from Ta Phraya National Park, almost to the Cambodian border, the King of the Silverlines:

The Aberrant Silverline ♂ - Cigaritis vixinga davidsoni

The Aberrant Silverline ♂ - Cigaritis vixinga davidsoni

The most beautiful IMHO and one of the rarest Cigaritis of Thailand. Sadly I missed the female, but Sunny got it, so you'll see her soon

This the same as Amathusia frederici form utana in Malaya.
On the HW the pale band just inside the main band is notched by the veins & with a rounded head.
outer area darkened & white bands dark tinged.

Typical A. phidippus male Thailand. female Malaya.
The same pale band not notched ,widens at the costa. white bands clear.

All the butterflies are so spectacular!

Looks like this place lives up to its reputation. I love the pale grand Imperial and the silverline... so amazing.
cheers

Great shot of the Spindasis vixinga!! Unique one in the genus.
Hopefully this will be found in Malaya soon as is the case with Deudorix diara.
