Malay Dartlet

I was a bit surprised to see two Malay Dartlets flying in the company of Comon Dartlet and TAQ in the nature reserve today. The known distribution area of this species is thus expanded with this sighting.

One of them was also ovipositing between sunbathing spells on various perches. Both did not give me any chance of a proper underside shoot as they opened their wings fully (pics 1 and 2), and the only times I could capture a glimpse of its underside was when one of them was ovipositing at a distance, and when it jumped at the camera flash (pic 3).

Glad to know that they are spreading, I think the last one I shot was near Warrant Golf Club , Chng and Loke's back yard.
