Default New for KS but not KPN

The last two mornings have been beautifully sunny, but clouded over arround 11.00am. Yesterday, I tried the forest at my waterfall site. Waste of time, not a single photo taken, or even tried!

Today, I went up a local hill where I have come across some rarities before. I was delighted to see the Tajuria dominus again, and also Rapala iarbus, which I had not seen all year. Unfortunately, everything was very skittish and stayed high up in the trees. Nevertheless, I managed a record shot of the Tamil Oakblue (Arhopala bazaloides bazaloides), which, until now, had only been seen on Koh Pha Ngan. (Not as good as Antonio's, but a record for Samui all the same).

    Les,

You and Antonio are certainly finding some interesting species. I am sure that your island list and maybe that of Thailand will grow through your efforts.

Thanks, David. The list is current standing at 335 species, including the, now, ten species found by Antonio on KPG, but not here on KS.

However, this figure will change a little, either up or down, as I still have a few dubious Hesperids to check, 3 Arhopala and one Riodinid that I am not sure about.

You certainly have a unque species there. Congrats.
I won't be surprised if the nos. of species of both islands are identical and tops 400.

A sighting from yesterday, sadly widely out-of-focus, in the forest of the Than Sadet National park entrance in KPG
