I had too many doubts so I contacted Dr. Ian Kitching at the British Museum about this one and No.2 in the first post.
He advised that No. 2 is
Ambulyx substrigilis f. cana, a very heavily marked form, which is probably why I could not ID it in the first place.
For the second, flying photo, he has advised that it is
Eurypteryx shelfordi, a new, but not entirely unexpected, record for Sabah

, having been found in Sarawak and Brunei before. WELL DONE, LC.
