The recent rains have made the trails in BTNR very muddy and wet at many spots. Along a trail, two butts suddenly appeared from nowhere and landed at the same spot on the ground. A closer look at the puddling pair revealed one Flat and one Common Hedge Blue enjoying some fresh bird dropping on the wet ground.
A check with the BC checklist came back with the ID of Tapena thwaitesi bornea for the Flat, a +1 for me.
