    Small FW 12mm.species, Abdominal end black-banded.
    UnH band veins not dark-dusted.
    Ground colour heavily dark, band edged by diffuse darkspots.
    Worn male on the right.

    P. serina. large FW 17mm.
    More orangey, abdominal end with a black band.
    FW spot 5 always smaller than spot 4.

    Antenna wiyh a prominent pale area.
    Three similar species.

    C. bromus.
    FW & HW uniformly brown.
    Subapical 2-3 often 2.
    UnH sometimes with white spot in space 2 & 3. especially in the female.

    Likely to be Allotinus unicolor.

    Although the markings look somewhat different it is the arrangement that matters.
    On the HW postdiscal spot 6 is the slightly 'S' shaped spot (not the diamond-shaped one).
    This spot 6 is placed well inside of spot 7 (a vertical bar) & spot 5.
    The position is diagnostic for A. unicolor only.

    Upperside deeper blue.
    UnH with the white stria merging with the orange patch in space 2.

    Should be Potanthus confucius.
    The UnF spots are broadly overlapping so that the band is continuous.
    Two species typically have this feature in the male.

    P. confucius Smaller FW 12-13 mm.
    Underside shading variable & bands edged with dark spots.
