    Default Id need confirmation

    Hello Dr. Seow Sir
    1. I found this photo in my old harddisk; it was taken in the year 2015. My tentative ID is Hyarotis microstictum, as it has a yellow tip on the antenna and vague hindwing.

    2. This one may be Celatoxia marginata. HW base of space 7 without round spot, here is a triangular patch.
    UnH space 1b spot absent.
It was taken in the year 2017.
    Both are same individual

Looks to be a worn male Caltoris cahira.
The antennae are off focus but thereis a pale area. What appear tobe a spot at the tip is irrelevant.

    Caltoris cahira.
    Antenna with a pale area.
FW with two cellspot, subapical spots 2-3 ,usually 2 in the male.
UnH dark chocolate brown, often very dark when fresh.
Ssp austeni most of continental Asia.
    P. Malaysia male.

    Acytolepis puspa gisca.

The dsf of A. puspa & C. marginata are so similar on the underside that they seem identical.

    https://yutaka.it-n.jp/lyc4/80850001.html

The slight difference is the spot at the base of space 7.
In Acytolepis puspa this spot is triangular ,often with a rounded margin.

    https://www.ifoundbutterflies.org/si...333_277348.jpg
In Celatoxia marginata, this spot is a streak or a very narrow triangle.

    https://www.ifoundbutterflies.org/si...395439-1_0.jpg

In addition the UpF male of Acytolepis puspa have a narrow black border .
In C. marginata the black boder is broad.
However, the females UpF of both have broad black borders & look similar.

    TL Seow: Cheers.

Most likely Female Celatoxia marginata.Correction: Acytolepis puspa gisca.
There is a small black spot at the base of HW space 7.
UnF with a discal white bloom due to the upperside with a white central area.
The combination indicate either C. marginata or Acytolepis puspa.

Celastrina lavendularis have no UnF white bloom. Most of the spots have white halos.
UnH space 7 base is clear ,sometimes a faint line.

I made some close scrutiny of these confusing species .
    CELASTACYT.png

    Celatoxia marginata,
FW without a costal spot 8. FW spots often larger.
FW postdiscal spots 3, 4, & 5 arranged almost at right angle to each other, steplike; spot 3 parallel & close to margin.
UnH base of space 7 with a very narrow mark/spot.

    https://www.ifoundbutterflies.org/si...da4d3fd3-1.jpg

    Acytolepis spp.
UnF with a spot 9 at the costa.
UnH with a triangular spot at the base of space 7, often rounded on outer margin.

    Acytolepis puspa gisca.
UnF spots 3, 4, & 5 out of line, with spot4 almost at right angle to spots 3 & 5. Likewise on HW.

    Acytolepis lilacea
UnF spots 3, 4, & 5 mostly in line. or on a smooth curve.

    Celastrina lavendularis.
    UnF without a spot 9.
UnH without a spot at the base of space 7.
    Spots with halos or white-ringed.

    Post 4. https://www.butterflycircle.com/atta...4&d=1729866043
Correction: Acytolepis puspa gisca. Note presence of FW spot 9.

    5. https://www.butterflycircle.com/atta...7&d=1730393934
    Acytolepis lilacea.
    UnF with spot 9; spots 3,4, & 5 in a smooth curve.

    6. https://www.butterflycircle.com/atta...8&d=1730393987
    7. https://www.butterflycircle.com/atta...9&d=1730394013

UnF without a spot 9. Spots with strong white halos.
No actual spot at base of space 7. A dark vein is probably due to abrasion.
