    Hi Dr Seow,

    I would like to seek confirmation that the following are Pelopidas mathias?

    I based it on the paler wing margins on the right individual and the general more grey-ish appearance.

    These are typicak Pelopidas mathias, the male on the right is more strongly grey-tinged.
    The grey gives P. mathias a dirty look.

    1, Caltoris cormasa male.
    There is a pale area on the antenna; UnH with rusty scaling ; Subapical spots often 3, & yellowish.
    Male & female.

    Similar. C. bromus; More uniform brown; subapical spots often 2, & white.

    2. Cephrenes acalle male.
    All veins are strongly black; band edged with sharp spots.

    3. Taractrocera archias male.
    Note HW band in an arc; no spot 7 ;antenna with rounded club.


    4. Isma male probably Isma protoclea; Correction: Hyarotis microstictum.
    Note white spot on antennal club.
    Two similar species recorded in Singapore.

    Isma iapis; UnH with ochreous scalings.

    5. Polytremis lubricans male. HW with a single spot. Correction : Probably female Caltoris bromus.
    Underside with a coarse scaling look. Antenna no defined pale area, tip bent.
    Male more brownish; female more ochreous. FW spots yellowish.
    UnH spots varies obsolete to a few.

    Correction.

    4. Hyarotis microsticta (= microstictum).

    Very similar to Isma protoclea but underside with diffuse brown fasciae & sometimes small white dots . Recorded Singapore 2015.

    Female Polytremis lubricans.
    The HW have a hyaline spot in space 4 & a small white spot in space 5.


    Polytremis lubricans.
    Antennal shaft is paler, greyish, the club is black & the apiculus (tip) bent, with a bit of orange ( not always visible)
    2 males & female.

    Antennal shaft & club black with just a slight pale area below the club.
    No FW cellspot or HW spot.
    Male more rusty brown female more ochreous.
