Underside u8niform brown with a densely speckled appearance. FW spots if noticeable yellow. Long gradual black antennal club.

Caltoris can be a rather difficult genus to ID as much depend on the colouration.
In photos it can varies enormously.

Underside strongly red/purple brown, the HW usually darker.
Occassionally most of the FW spots may be absent except for spots 2 & 3.

Caltoris bromus.
Underside dark brown with an ochreous overlay. FW upper cellspot should be prominent. Female often with extra HW spots.

Caltoris cahira.
Very similar to C. bromus but underside HW dark chocolate.

Caltoris malaya.
FW without cellspot, so no upper cellspot visible from the underside.
Underside light rusty brown in male.
Probable male.
