    Default A Pithauria species?

    A headache skipper photographed at Tat Man, Nan province, north Thailand.
    The closest I can find is a Pithauria species. Quite close to Pithauria stramineipennis, but a couple of features are not quite correct (Eg. I don't like the white barred abdomen).

    It is a Halpe species.

    Pithauria have long pointed FWs & prominent orange -tipped antennae.

    Salient features noted.
    1 Upperside FW with a upper cellspot ;
    Dark brand from v1b to v3.
    Underside without a definite pale band.

    Thes put 3 species into contention.
    H. wantona, pelethronix, veluvana .

    H veluvana have FW spots 2 & 3 widely overlapping & yellow & may be excluded.

    This is either H. wantona or pelethronix.
    Not sure of the difference3.

    Presumptive H. pelethronix.:HW interneura dark spots broader.

    Presumably this is Halpe wantona.
