The white discal mark is often reduced or obscure in this species.

15. My guess Hippotion echeclus male.

4 species are near identical; their IDs depend on the HW tornal pale patch & whether the base is black, as well as FW shape & intensity of the markings.
The FW of echeclus is less convex than in the other species, so that the dark line from the apex is straighter there than in the other species.

15. Confirmation : Hippotion echeclus.
Note FW not strongly bowed, lines straight; HW black base diagnostic but hidden at rest.
The HW tornal area is pale & the dark bands/shading match correctly.

16, Hypena cf. abjectalis. Sundaland. Hypeninae ,Erebidae (formerly Noctuidae).
One of the few in genus in which the FW fasciae seem more horizontal than crossing the wing.
There is a perspective distortion of the markings due to the wings not being flat.

I happened to have the book part 17 of MoB, which is not published.
No pix on the net.
