    Default Brown Skipper

Encountered this skipper today during the lunch outing. A rather large brown specimen.

Dr Seow, could this be a Baoris sp.?

When I first saw this I thought it could be Baoris since the mid tibia appeared very spiny. I think that's an illusion.
In Baoris the antenna is black with only a slight paleness of the shaft beneath. As far as I can see this paleness can hardly be seen in normal photography. Here are 3 pics of B. farri male.

There is a single lower cell spot on the upperside, and the colouration of the underside hindwing is sort of rusty brown. This individual is a quite worn. It should be a female Caltoris cormasa.
The colour rendition is too dull eg, the green is sort of blue-greyish. Handphone pic ?
Here is a worn male with more natural colour. Note the pale area of the antennae.

Thanks, Dr Seow for the ID. This individual was rather worn and appeared to be brown rather than purplish brown to the naked eye.
The dull coloration could have been caused by the poor lighting condition during a drizzle on site.
