    Default Arhopala and raining season

November is the most wet month of the year here in the peninsular Thailand. So time to stay home. Not for me!
7/8 in the morning usually for a few hours the rain stops and I go for some hunting. The last few days I start to meet more Arhopala, otherwise not so common now.

I've seen several Arhopala abseus, Arhopala alitaeus mirabella, many that seem to me Arhopala atosia malayana, see pic after:

    Arhopala sp.

and some Arhopala bazaloides, see pic after:

    The Tamil Oakblue

Of course if I made any mistake in the ID....

It is not an Arhopala atosia. On the hindwing, the postdiscal spots in spaces 5,6 & 7 are not in echelon and there is a (tiny) spot in space 11 of the forewing. This is another member of the alitaeus group, probably A. ariana.

Since there is no spot at the base of space 10. (which would be right on top of the central cell spot), it can only be one of three, elopura, ariana or aida.
It has to be A. aida, since the forewing termen margin is very straight & even slightly concave, and there is a pale slately purplish wash on the wings.

I did look at A. aida, but I thought that the pale slatey glaze was not strong enough. I always have trouble with the forewing termen, the differences, to me, seem sooooo small!
