It was glorious weather all the way, with no rain at all (and a little passing shower, which doesn't count) ;P
Lots of common butts and really abundant. Everyone made it home safely and let's have the posts rolling! :gbounce:

Thank you Sunny & Irene for organising the trip & wonderful meals.
Wow ! Reached home around 10pm yesterday. As usual, traffic jam near Rawang.
All are home except Les, he is now at the airport waiting for flight.
Awesome trip...great company, great food - great FUN! Thanks, Sunny (and anyone else i left out...not sure who else were involved in making this outing a great success, sorry!). Thanks to Irene for her great cooking! I gain a few inches around the waist :P
Great meeting you guys/gals in person. Think i know all the names....just not sure what nicks they use in this forum :P

Great to know that this is a fruitful trip for you guys, so where are the pics :bsmile:
Awesome trip.
Thank you sunny & the organizing committee for an excellent well planned trip. We were indeed fortunate to have electricity all night long! and the 4:30pm Char Kuew Teow kept us alive all the way back to SG while we brave the massive traffic jam which was cause by 4 cones placed on the emergency lane of the highway :bsmile: :bsmile: oops, have I not mentioned the miricle healing properties from the jungle, 3 hours of deep jungle walk, cured all my funky heat rash :p
Thanks Khew, for driving us to / from. The drive was so comfortable i fell asleep the moment we left camp :p
Irene's cooking kept me going for 2nd and 3rds and kept us all energized throughout the entire trip.
Les, you helped me ID-ed so many butterflies & dragonflies & damselflies as well as gave us keywords like RARE, uncommon hahaha that kept us going in for more and more :p
Nelson was the Nikon Emergency support centre, with the lens loanage to keep my shooting going on.
Side note : Nikon D3s failed in Endau Rompin. I think he went out at night went for a swim in the river and forgotten to dry itself. It will make a trip to the service centre hopefully tomorrow. So next year's participants may consider deferring from bringing the Nikon D4 :p hahaha
The group photos are here, all four of them :)

A great outing with precise coordination and planning to make it an effortless ER experience for newbies as well as the more seasoned veterans. Thanks Sunny and Khew for the effort and time spent on ensuring that all is well taken care of.
Need to reiterate that the food is nothing short of amazing, excellent food followed by big appetite. Thanks Irene for your 5 star culinary skills that provided us 3 hotel meals a day.
Fantastic company provides the icing on the cake, where all are sharing their experiences and knowledge about the various aspects of insect’s behavior and identification.
Kudos to all who had contributed in making this a fantastic trip. This definitely
deserve a AAA grading. :thank_you
Glad that all enjoy the trip! It was indeed a wonderful trip with great company . Irene was most delighted in contributing towards the trip by feeding the hungry shooters. :)
The weather was very kind, though not as many butterflies as my previous trips, nevertheless it gave the first timers a taste of what Selai can offer. Kurt got his Lantern Bug and others got their Malay Red Harlequin and a few other rarities.
The recent dry spell must have its effect as there were relatively few leeches as well , except two that found lucky Les.:bsmile:

Luckily no "honey moon " couple inside the hut, if not Khew sure kenna broom on head.:bsmile:
..... I am sure we scared the hell out of the occupants, with so many guys armed with cameras and flash popping left, right and centre ,and giving instruction: ""move left a bit""; ""higher a bit""; aiyah cannot get the angle"" ; "" my turn"":bsmile:
We could easily be mistaken as the religious squad catching Kalwat!!;P
Ya... I like the nice fiery 'hot' background. Time to upgrade to D700 leh. Your AF too slow already. But not as slow as someone we know eh? :bsmile:
Heh... Being able to speak Bahasa Malaysia helps. :grin2: Nevertheless, I believe they still think we're all mad, proning in the river and shooting butts all over the shop.
Just when the orang asli think we are okie and sane after so many trips.
.... one orang asli was a bit freaked out and asked what the hell our guys and girls were doing walking into the forest at night ?
Orang asli: Apa dia orang cari?( what are they looking for?)
If I tell him "Macro Malam"(Nite Macro) I am sure he wun have a clue......so
Sunny :Oh ! Dia orang Cari hantu ! ( Oh ! They are looking for ghosts!)
:bsmile:
Like to share some of the shots i've taken. Being newbie in the butt world can't remember the names apart from the Nawab and Five Bar. Need help. Thanks

Derrick,
Very good effort on your first butt shoot!!
Oooo... nice shots, Derrick!
The IDs are :
- Orange Albatross, with a Great Jay lurking behind.
- Small Leopard (and not Mini Leopard like LP said) ;P
- Magpie Crow
- Striped Blue Crow (male)
- Hieroglyphic Flat
Great effort in nailing the puddling butterflies. You just need to work in getting your sensor parallel to the butterfly.
Looks like great fun down at ER, too bad I had to give this a pass due to my exams.
Keep the photos rolling in!
