Beautiful shots of the Malayan Snow Flat and Ring.:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Post 2.
It is a Four Ring. 4 HW rings ; lower 3 spots/rings in line; no dark bands.
TL Seow :Cheers.
Dr Seow, is this Opaque Sixline Blue ( Nacaduba beroe neon) or Transparent Sixline Blue (Nacaduba kurava)? Thanks!
http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3741/1...bcbb79_c_d.jpg
Post 6.
It is a male Transparent 6-line Blue Nacaduba kurava. Note the large quadrate(squarish) HW submarginal spot 6.
It is necessary to ID the sex first.(Here male, straight termen(outer margin), truncated abdominal tip, short palpi 3rd segment.)
The males of N. kurava & beroe have the dark lines/striae within the FW postdiscal band less well-developed.
The dark lines are almost obsolete in the male of N. beroe. Females of both species have well-developed dark striae.
The wingbases are darkened in the male N. beroe(not in the female). The wingbases look darkish here, but only the irregular bands are darkened.
If you look along HW space 7 the basal ground colour is not dark. Ditto for the FW base.
Examples of the male Nacaduba beroe.
1.(The palpi 3rd segment is the free black tip only, not down to the eye.)
The FW dark lines in the postdiscal band are almost obsolete. The wings are darkened so it is hard to see the bases are darker eg. along space 7.

Both the males of Nacaduba berenice & calauria have well-developed dark striaes within the FW postdiscal bands.
Males Nacaduba berenice. The submarginal spots are typically narrow & irregular.

Thank you Cher Hern & Happy New Year to you & all.
It is a Caltoris cormasa alright.
The Bush brown do looks like M. visala but is essentially a M. mineus variant.
The marginnal pale lines look thick like visala.
However, the HW the lower 4 spots are in line & the inner margin of the eyespots indents most deeply at the upperend . typical for M. mineus.

Post 24. last pix.
I think it should be a male N. calauria.
There is still a fair bit of confusion because of variations & what appear to be intermediates.
It is necessary to determine the gender first , male here from habit & brush end abdomen.
The beroe male have the dark striae in the FW postdiscal band obsolete or poor; wingbases dark-shaded.
The berenice male have the marginal spots rather flat & the HW marginal spot 3 (above the eyespot ) flatter.
Three males with uppers.

The male calauria tend to have the marginal spots bulging ;HW marginal spot 3 rounded; Marginal & submarginal spots usually dark.

HW base darkened but FW base not obvious .2nd pix, Federick, Lornie Trail 2012.

Narrow Spark (Sinthusa nasaka amba)

Looks right for A. athada.
Large size; FW band strongly dislocated at vein 4; HW submarginals & postdiscals well separated.

Not sure which Fourline Blue, Dr Seow, is this Singapore Fourline Blue (Nacaduba pavana singapura)?
https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3695/...2831cd16_h.jpg
https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3733/...d59460_h_d.jpg
Yes, it is N. pavana.
This is one of two species of Fourline Blue in which the bands have dark striae within the white striae.
The 2nd species (also recorded in Singapore)N. russelli have large bulging submarginal spots.
TL Seow :Cheers.

https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2933/...47c73f_c_d.jpg
Post 37.
I quite agreed it is Telicota besta bina male.
The exposed underside FW shows orange at the base of space 2. (only seen in the male of augias, besta & colon.).
The colour is yellower (although can be very difficult to tell in photos.)
The HW ground is a bit darker giving a better cotrast to the HW band.
A male T. augias with a deeper orange ground & poor contrast with the HW band.
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-1VOTdSSpi_...sta%2Bbina.jpg
Definitive male T. augias underside.
1. Deep orange colour.
2. Wide overlap of FW spot 3 & 4.
3. Very poorly contrasted HW band.
