Where did you find the Choaspes subcaudatus? I have seen large skippers like this along the Telekom Loop at Fraser's Hill but never have been able to take a photo.

Thanks David for the kind words. The Choaspes stigmatus caudatus is shot at Bukit Tinggi. We did not find many species at Fraser but the Abisara neophron was a nice surprise as it was different from the one that we had in Singapore. :)

PS. The Choaspes is far more difficult than I realised, especially with the vital ID segment torn off.
Although the black bar is folded under some blackness should be noticeable, and the naked vein is mostly orange.(black bar large in C. subcaudatus.)
The inner margin of the orange area is curved & not straight as in C. subcaudatus.(not always curved in C. stigmata though.)

Choaspes stigmatus caudatus is the correct name for what is previously C. plateni caudatus. (C. plateni has been shown to be a different species.)
