That is it for my butterfly photos from Fraser's Hill. I have a number of shots of other animals that I would also like to include.
Moths were out in fair numbers this year. One of my favourites was this Archaeoattacus edwardsii (thanks, Les).

This giant Saturniid was also a beauty (probably Loepa sikkima, thanks Les):

others:
Euplocia memblaria (a female) - Erebidae (thanks, Les)

Urapteroides astheniata - Uraniidae (thanks, Les)

Glyphodes caesalis - Crambidae (thanks, Les)

Cossidae sp. - Looks like a member of Xyleutes genus, but can not be sure which. (thanks, Les)

Ted and I searched for reptiles. Most were found by driving on the roads at night. A few lizards and a single snake were also found during the day.
I think that the following was a juvenile Water Monitor (Varanus salvator). One was attracted to the belachan bait below Jeriau Falls. It scared off the butterflies that I was trying to photograph.

Green-crested Dragon (Bronchocela cristatella). Digiscoped by Bruce through his binoculars. Bruce found the dragon at the Gap. It had captured a dragonfly. The second shot shows the habitat and the dragon (visible in photo centre).

We found this Green Cat Snake (Boiga cyanea) on the road between the Gap and Kuala Kubu Bharu. It is one of the rear-fanged colubrids with mild venom.

Green Tree Racer (Elaphe prasina). It was dead on the road about 1km from the Gap on the old road.

Malayan Green Whip Snake (Ahaetulla mycterizans). Found near the site 8km from the Gap along the road to Raub.

Speckle-belly Keelback (Rhabdophis chrysargus). Another rear-fanged colubrid with mild venom. I found this one near the picnic area along the trail to Jeriau Falls. It was hunting along the edge of the creek.

Blue Malaysian Coral Snake (Calliophis bivirgatus). Unfortunately, this beautiful elapid was dead on the road. This one was below the Gap but Ted also found one on the day that I left near Jelai Guesthouse. I think that these highly toxic elapids are one of the most beautiful species of snakes.

This lovely Peninsula Pit Viper (Popeia fucata) was found on the new road about half way to the Gap. It would vibrate its tail like a rattlesnake when it was agitated.

This trilobite beetle (Lycidae) was on the road at night. Ted's camera did a good job at capturing the bright, phosphorescent spots at the tip of the abdomen.

I always search for these primitive trapdoors, Liphistius malayanus, on a road cut not far from the Pekan Bunglo.

http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...0/trapdoor.jpg
Tarantulas were numerous along the road cuts fo the Telekom Loop.

Ted's shot of a White-thighed Langurs (Presbytis siamensis)

... and a very distant Siamang. We heard these daily but they were hard to actually see. This one was about half to the Gap on the new road.

That is all from Fraser's Hill.

Beautiful series of shots, David. I keep on saying that I must go to Fraser's Hill soon, but, somehow, something else always comes up!
Interesting that you found moths in good supply this year. Personally, on Samui, there has been absolutely not activity at all, this year. We hardly saw ant at Khao Sok either. By the way, do you need IDs for the moths?

A great, great collection and an amazing trip!
I'm a bit jealous and I would like to go in Malaysia too, but I forget that the next month I'll go to Sulawesi ;-)

Graphium is Garphium chironides. (Hindwing extra long narrow window at inner margin; submarginal spots large & crowded.)

Thanks, Les and Antonio.
Also, thanks for the correction, Seow. I should have looked more closely at the Graphium. Here are shots of the two species, one from last July and one from March 2012.
Graphium chironides and G. bathycles

David, great set you got from Faser's. Hope that I will get some of it this week end.

David, I enjoy viewing these pictures - a very good collection of butterflies and moths apart from scenery and other critter shots
Thanks for sharing.
