Hello Dr. Seow Sir...
I'm confused with this Jamides sp.
This individual has thick striea, that is the id key for alecto!
But striae are greyish with dark ground colour, which are id keys for caeruleas...!
Also the last white stria on the FW looks almost hangs free. HW 2nd stria in space 7 nearer to the 3rd stria in the cell.
Need your valuable suggestions...:)

This is a fairly typical male Jamides alecto.
Note the thick striae & the very sharp spike.
The striae are yellowish but this is a normal variation.
The three species can at times be very confusing especially the female.
Jamides alecto
FW postdiscal spot 3 is shifted well inwards until its outer margin is aligned with the inner margin of spot 4 above.ie there is no free hanging stria.
The spike in HW space 1b formed by the lower end of the 3rd stria is sharp, especially in ssp agelades
White striae are thick but may be mostly so on the lower FW.

UnF with usually no 'free hanging stria' as in alecto.
UnH 2nd stria in space 7 not nearer to the 3rd stria in the cell ie as in alecto.
Underside with thin striae.
The white striae on the lower FW in the female are slightly thicker.
Spike in space 1b less pointy or triangular.
Note female from Chiang mai probably alecto.

UnF spot 3 dislocation incomplete, the outer margin stria of spot 3 end as a free hanging stria (almost always).
UnH 2nd stria in space 7 aligned with the 3rd stria in the cell or very close to it.
UnH spike in space 1b triangular.
Underside with a dusky grey shading but weak in the female.
White striae are thin.

This is probably J elpis. The striae on the HW are not aligned as in caeruleus.Visible upperside blue pale.
