He suspects this might be the Potanthus rectifisciatus
My comments were :
Two of the Potanthus that lack UPH spot 7 in Thailand are P. rectifasiatus and P. pamela and both have brand running from vein 1b to 4.
Description from Butterflies of the Malay Peninsula on P. rectifasciatus :
The narrow and deeply excavated post-discal band on the forewing is composed of spots with the outer edges in line in both sexes.
The hindwing post discal band is distinctive in lacking the usual spots 7 on the upper surface.
The male of this species and of the much rarer P. pamela has a discal stigma running from vein 1b to 4 on the forewing above.
The only problem I have with the posted specimen is the UPF post-discal band are not deeply excavated on the outer edges and the lack of a tiny spot 6 normally conjoined with spot 5 on the UNH .
This could very well be a Potanthus pamela than a Potanthus rectifiasiatus.
There are also two Telicotas that have similar characteristic as exhibited in this specimen, namely :
Telicota ohara ( male )
Telicota linna
