Maliau Basin Conservation Area [Request some ID]

Hi Guys,

I would like to share my findings from my 2 days camping trip recently in Maliau Basin. The trip was my 3rd short trip, not too many butterfly or even moths around, probably the seasons start to have light showers every evening.. or just too many birds around that place. :thinking:

Nevertheless some butterflies I managed to photograph and some need ID help from the experts here. :)

Bush browns are, Mycalesis anapita fucentia and Mycalesis orseis borneensis, respectively.

Lycaenidae:

14, 15, 16- Anthene lycaenina miya

17- Prosotas aluta aluta

18- Nacaduba beroe neon; diagnostic feature: forewing without costal white dashes above the subbasal lines

19- Prosotas nora superdates

20- Poritia erycinoides pellonia

8. Curetis sperthis male. Black speckles; FW band parallel to margin.

9. C. santana or felderi. black speckles; FW band oblique;HW vaque but suggest C. santana.

11. Very hard to separate M. patiana & anaputa.

M. anapita paler & yellower; Upperside FW eyespot clearly yellow-ringed.
Underside FW extra lower spot may be significant.

The two are much mixed-up on the web.
Even Yutaka's M. anapita appeared to be M. patiana.

21. makings narrow probably A. metamuta.
22. Green metalmark large. Unknown.

The 2nd Arhopala is very likely A. baluensis.

The green tornal marking is large and its topmost portion in space 3 is well-separated from the rest of the green scales below it by a patch of brown scales. This character seems to only be present in baluensis and alica (both endemic to Borneo), the other spp in Borneo have these green scales in space 3 either weakly developed or absent. Ventral markings in alica are very indistinct so this must be baluensis.
