Description
The Commander is a distant relative of the temperate region's Red and Blue Admirals. This Nymphalinae is a dark reddish brown on the upperside, with a broad white macular band extending across both the fore and hindwings. The underside is generally marked as above but the basal halves of the wings are a pale greenish grey.
