Description
The males are a deep purple above and unmarked, whilst the females are brown with a hint of bluish-purple at the wing bases. The underside is a dull greyish-brown with white striae. There is an orange crowned black eyespot at the tornal area of the hindwing. The species possesses a fine white-tipped tail.
Habitat & Habits
The Pointed Line-Blue is a small butterfly which is occasionally common in certain locations within the nature reserves and in some areas near the swampy mangrove outcrops.
Males of the Pointed Line-Blue can often be found settled at moist spots on forest tracks. The butterfly has a fast erratic flight, but when disturbed from its feeding ground, it usually returns to the same spot after a while.
