Finally manage to nail a close shot of the swift elusive yellow. :grin2:
While going through the shots, notice that pic 2 (heavily cropped) is different from pic 1. Are they both yellow flash with difference in markings between male and female?

:) That's cos the 2nd shot is not a Yellow Flash but a Suffused Flash. Markings are definitely different. The genus Rapala has quite a few lookalikes, though. So searching thru' the internet for the other species in the group would be advisable. Check out the plates here. (http://www.butterflycircle.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5949)

Thanks Khew, for the reference. At first I was suspecting it to be Suffuse Flash, but the yellow color
seems so distinctive to the YF as compared to those SF on the checklist.
Thanks for the clarification. :grin2:

Nelson,

There is doubt as to whether the "Suffused Flash" you shot there are Suffused Flash or something else....

We will need more pictures and evidence to substantiate the suspicion.

Unfortunately thats the only shot I manage to get before it zipped off into oblivion. :-(
