Shot this Lexias pardalis dirteana (Archduke) last weekend.

But I noticed the male sample photos in the checklist does not have the two yellow dots on the thorax. See picture below. Or it is just common abberation for the butt.

oo looks like me, a very handsome copy too.
i dont have a copy of C&P 4 here, but i would check Lexias pardalis dirteana and Lexias canescens pardalina to find some clues if it could be the latter.
Maybe some of the experts can answer that for u.

the sub apical area is not black - not Black Archduke. The Yellow Archduke both sexes look like the female Archduke so this cant be the Yellow Archduke either. Probably the Archduke. (correction: i mean black antennal clubs)

Thanks Mark, Ellen.
In the absence of strong evidence, it will be guilty as charged - remains as Mark ;P

Yes, this is the Archduke (Lexias pardalis dirteana). The orange-tipped antennae are quite obvious.

Mark must've left his C&P4 at home. The Yellow Archduke's male and female look alike and not like the blue-hindwinged male of the Archduke and Black Tipped Archduke.

Yellow spots are subject to variation.
