Encountered a small colony of these jumpy Arhopala yesterday deep in the CCA. Strangely, they only react to Nikon flashes whilst staying still for my other two fellow photographers using Canon systems. ;P

Yup, Canon Flash, gentle and soothing for Arhopalas...:bsmile:

the upperside looks really nice, rarely get to see them. Nice inflight shot uncle Khew :P

Is that good enough to help identify the jumpy fella?

Jonathan, not bad, you can certainly do better than me in drawing!

It looks like a male Arhopala major major because of the topside shot which shows a larger border around the wings as compared to the topside of the A. amphimuta.

Thanks Ellen. Looks like we'll have to make lots more comparisons with the striations and spots on the underside with other shots of A. major.

After comparing some shots, that Nacaduba that we shot still matches N. beroe the closest. Not easy to match all the markings in these lookalike butts. :mad2:

Yeah.... been staring at the CP4 instead of my books! *Panic*... and I'm not even sure I'm correct either... ok I have to study other more boring topics like accountancy now (buries)
