Is this a Malayan ?

Was clearing my hard disk and found this shot taken at ZH Park in Oct. Is this a Malayan ? The brown patches pattern on the upper wing seems different (more messy) from the one shown in the check list. :hmmm: Thanks for help

Yes it is the Malayan. It seems to me that the members of the tribe Polyommatini are particularly susceptable to aberrant markings. Indeed, in Europe, entire books have been written on the various aberrations of a single species, such as the Chalkhill Blue (Lysandra coridon).

This is a melanic form of the malayan, probably formed from pupae exposed to abnormally high or low temp.
