Thanks Khew for the confirmation. Looking closely at the proboscis, seems kind of weird (as in Short)...?

That was a good guess...anyway I saw the proboscis still hanging that way when it flew around, I was a little curious and puzzled too..:)

Yes, the proboscis is a single organ made up of two fused parts so the fact that each part is moving independently in this case is highly abnormal.

Yes, and if the butterfly is disturbed while zipping the proboscis up(just after eclosion), it might not do it correctly... So the butterfly can't feed and will die...:cry:
