I still id this to be a Tanaecia pelea pelea (Malay Viscount)

However, the thin bluish line along the forewing costa margin and the blue markings in the forewing discal region are not seen in many other shots that I have (as well as those in the checklist)

I will be happy that my id is wrong.

Could the blue scaling be due to reflection caused by the angle?
Just a thought, coz other than the blue stuff markings seem consistent.

no hints of blue in the other photos, and no mention of blue in the description of cnp4...a special edition?

I have also spotted some of these MVs with bright blue markings along trail in MRP, which is quite different from those in the checklist.

Under certain lighting conditions, the blue seems to show up more prominently. The flash also tends to highlight colours that are not apparent under normal lighting conditions.

The keys to the separation of the Tanaecia lookalikes to the Malay Viscount are shown in C&P4.

But keep a close watch on the variations of this species (and also the female Malay Baron). Who knows, we could stumble on something new.

Yes. My recent shot of it also has some blue. Probably because of the low light and harsh flash.
