A rediscovery for Singapore? Keneric spotted this fella and informed me that there is a YGT fluttering outside the nursery office, i grabbed my cam and took some shots.

Flipped tru the C&P4 only to be confused more by the 2 x Females of the Paeronia sp. Looking tru at the life history by LC Goh in the blog (http://butterflycircle.blogspot.com/2007/11/life-history-of-yellow-glassy-tiger.html) and comparing with uncle khew's photo, more inclined to say that it is the YGT, although this record shot dont show any yellows on the forewing. I could be wrong tho.

No, it definitely is not a Pareronia sp.
Mimics like Pareronia dun have a spotted thorax and the reduction of the forelegs in both photos indicates that they are both nymphalids.:)

Thanks for the confirmation Aaron! Sorry as I did not elaborate the differences earlier. The thorax part was pretty obvious but i did not notice the differences in the legs.

Ky, we do not have the YGT yet. So im still curious where this fella came from.

a +1 to the checklist!

i must go flip all the leaves of the Raphistemma sp. Are there any more known host plants?

if none in the butt enclosure yet, time to check the other butterfly parks in sg whether they have imported this butt and whether any escaped. Think there are in T3..

but in anycase, i found this on the net: http://bignss.blogspot.com/2008/03/new-species-sighted-at-alexandra.html

not very far from you.

lets hope they stay. afterall this is a butterfly which has appeared on phone cards: http://colnect.com/cs/phonecards/phonecard/id/463553

Liquidstranger must be Keneric. And he is the one who spotted this locally extinct outside PPN office.

As for the BIG website, hehehe.... i dont want to comment.
