Thanks for the article. Maculinea arion is a species I have always been interested in, since my very early days, when it was already of great concern owing to its dramatically fallling numbers. I was aware of the reasons for this, only up to the change in grazing practices. The finding that it was the demise of rabbits through Myxamatosis was new to me, as I had thought that it was the farmers changing their practices that were to blame (sorry farmers!).

The news that there are now a large number of separate colonies, which appear to be thriving is fantastic.

I've always though that Myxomatosis was a myth, now i know it's a reality^^

Why???? The pitiful sight of diseased rabbits is permanently etched on my memory!

I've heard the term berfore but i thought it was some funky false term for diseased rabbits.:)
