My apartment was fumigated at noon today and I saw this eggfly resting on the wall (level 8), hoping to hide from the fumigation.

question: which eggfly is this? I am still not good at it. But this is the first time I caught an eggfly in Simei.

From the submarginal markings on the hindwings, I'd say that it's subspecies bolina (or Great Eggfly). But the markings on the two subspecies are getting closer and closer and the variations between the two subspecies are beginning to resemble each other more.

At the moment, only the female uppersides give a more definitive clue between the two subspecies. The males are not easy to separate.

the eggfly rested for 3 hours and just flew off... i'm so glad that it didnt die from the fumigation.

Hmm... it might have been the perfect opportunity to try and feed it with some fruit:P
