The Ladies

The appears to be some inconsistency between the Painted Lady that James shot on 24th Dec and the single Indian Painted lady me and Federick shot on 26th Dec .

Looking at James side shot of his Lady the marking resemble that of the Vanessa cardui, yet the topside shot is that of a Vanessa indica indica

The Vanessa indica indica me and Federick shot has marking on the hindwing that is different to James' shot .

Possible that we shot two different Ladies ??

Sunny, all the 3 of you shot only one individual of this species. How it got here, and from where, we may never know...
