Just curious, did the male have that white patch on the underside?
Btw, congrats Sunny, this is the first sighting of the female!:redbounce

Benedict and Aaron Thank You!

Aaron , yes , this is the first ever sighting of a female since beginning of 2006 . The underside of the male does have the postdiscal white patch on the underside.

Also noted that the female postdiscal white patch is much more diffused and the extension at hindwing vein 4 is very angular as compare to the male which is rounded.

Mark,

Thanks for the input, will have to investigate further on this " abnormality ".

.................................................. .................................................. ....

Just did a quick and dirty investigation ....

Noted that the 3 shots with the said additional spot could had been from a same individual taken at KRP on the same day 2005- 10 - 22 and all three appear to have the same scuff marks at the front wing costal vein and basal region. A few of them were performing for the whole BC gang for close to a week after I located a colony of males sometime in OCT 2005.

The shot by Nicky aka Silverstreak in the checklist is also from the same location and it is without the additional spot . I have also check my folder of approx 25 shots of Male Abisara saturata kausambiodes from KRP and none exhibit the additional spot.

I believe this could be an aberrant individual, neverthekless , members who have Malayan Plum Judy in their folder are most welcome to help substantiate this initial suggestion.

Cheers!

Mark, that "spot" seem to be a hole on the wing rather. :)
