Help ! Can someone confirm this is S. hippoclus selangorana ?

It looks really like a hippoclus (http://www.angelfire.com/journal2/chinfahshin/nymphalini/hippoclus.html), bt the markings near the apex of the forewing don't really correspond bt resemble lilaea (http://www.b-pals.com/butts/show_photo.php?img_id=2863). The underside resembles lilaea too. U may get lucky on this one, as well as feel disappointed if it were a lilaea.

Oh no! Just realised that the bands on the hindwing don't match too.:cry:

Hi Goh,
Both Fleming and Pisuth have underside photo of both S. lilaea and S. hippoclus,
you will have a lot of fun trying to compare the two :)
Anyway, the two species are difficult to separate satisfactorily without dissection of the male genitalia.

Nope, that's not a hippoclus. True hippoclus has more irregular spots on the forewing. The orange bar on the forewing of hippoclus also has a depression.This one does not, so it is most probably a lilaea.
