Spots in Allotinus are of various shapes.


Allotinus unicolor.
HW postdiscal spot 6 set well inside spot 5 & 7
FW postdiscal series of spots not broken .
HW teeth broad based.

Allotinus horsfieldi.
HW postdiscal spot 6 set just under spot 7 or about inside, & close to it.
FW series of postdiscal spots broken in the middle.
HW teeth broad based.
Markings light brownish.

Allotinus leogoron.
Very similar to A. horsfieldi, ie. HW spot 6 under spot 7 & FW potdiscal series of spots broken.
But markings darker & ground colour whiter; HW teeth needle sharp ie narrow based. (Note; female have wider-based teeth but narrower than female horsfieldi.)
