Dear Dr. Seow sir.


Please help me identifying the following butterfly. My initial suspect is Bothrinia channelli channelli.

Indeed it is Bothrinia channelli channelli..

FW postdiscal spots rather rounded & all in line.
FW cilia white. Correction: FW cilia may be faintly chequered.

There seem some confusion with Celastrina & Udara.

Both Celastrina & Udara have the FW postdiscal spots elongate, the uppermost spot shifted well inside of the rest.
FW cilia is chequered. In addition in Udara the costal margin is edged with dark spots.

This one below is Celastrina & should be C. argiolus.

This should be correct.

The markings of Zizinz otis sangra can be remarkably similar but the eyes are very pale.
