The Rapala species in India are more confusingly variable than in SE Asia.

Species in which the HW postdiscal band is domed or arched in space 1b & postdiscal band is narrow ,almost linear.
They include R. dieneces, suffusa ,damona & tara.

R. dieneces Male UpH with costal area & cell black.
Underside generally lighter ochreous to brownish. FW band mostly straight/slightly curved ;HW orange crown defined by a dark line but often not distinct nor confined to space 2 ( ie. spreadout beyond space 2).

R. suffusa FW upperside red patch with diffuse border & suffused brown;'

2 is probably correct as Rapala scintilla, but hard to be sure.
The male UpH is blue shot in a side light & that may not be visible even in a field shot.

The underside is strongly grey. The bands broad & close to the cellend bar in the male especially.
The orange crown is more rounded generally in the male .
