I found a batch of caterpillars feeding on Lalang and they end up as a Telicota. The caterpillars looks different from the T.augias, T.besta and T.linna I have raised before. The heads are variable but their tail has a distinct mark. Could this be a T.colon?

You do have a female Telicota colon there.
FW spot 4 & 5 are not aligned fully , spot 5 being set a bit out from spot 4 ; margins of spots strongly concave.

I found another caterpillar on the same patch of Lalang recently and and the adult looks like a T.besta (male) but the caterpillar does not look like the T.besta I have raised previously (no black cap at tail and head looks like T.aguis).
Is this a T.besta? Photo taken less than 3 hours after eclosion.

Post 4.
It is a Telicota colon.

Note FW spots 4 & 5 .Above spot 5 have almost no overlap with spot 6; below spot 4 have very little overlap with spot 3.

TL Seow: Cheers.

Thanks. This caterpillar does not have the tail marking as those previously.
