All these images were taken on Doi Suthep, n Thailand this week, around 500 m, and all in the same general locality.

Image 1 and 2 are the same individual. This butterfly first attracted my attention given the extensive orange crowns on the hindwing. Quite unlike the other Jamides I am familiar with in north Thailand. I am thinking that this is female J. elpis. Would that be correct please?

Image 3 and 4 (same individual) I assume are J. alecto, which is common in n Thailand.

Image 5 was in the same area and appears to have characteristics of both species. Until I saw this one I thought they two were easily separated. Now it's a bit confusing.

With many thanks

They all are Jamides alecto.

The 3 species are closely related & share many similar features.
The orange area can be rather large in both alecto & elpis.

J. alecto White striae rather broad especially in outer half.
