Help for identify Neptis sappho and Neptis hylas

Hello everybody,

I was read this thread,http://www.butterflycircle.com/showthread.php?15110-ID-Help-Request!!&p=129760#post129760, so I was revised my butterfly pictures. From the keys, I can name:

This one is N.sappho?

The Neptis are particularly difficult in the north with wsf & dsf.

There are 31 species in Vietnam , half of which are black & white.

I have been unable to locate images for N. dejeani & genulfa.

Both N. sappho & hylas have the cell bar fractured (like a broken bone)& underside with the white band edged in black.
N. hylas have the FW postdiscal spots elongate & the HW white band's lower border with a tiny triangular spot (at the base of space 3).

N. sappho have the FW spots more rounded & the HW basal spot 3 often absent; Underside ground is a deeper rusty brown.

Your link does not match either species .The FW spots are very large & wide & the subapical spots almost fused. The colour is a bluish white.

Possibly it is one of the two unknown species ie N. dejeani & genulfa.

Post 3. The underside a rusty brown with the white bands black-edged is that of N. sappho.Correction: Neptis hylas.
This meant it is an extreme dry-season form (dsf) of N. sappho. which have the white bands & spots very broad.

PS . ID Correction; It should an extreme dsf of Neptis hylas. The underside colour is difficult to deduce in photos it is also variable.
There is no examples of N. sappho in which the FW postdiscal spots are broad (ie horizontally elongate).
Evans give additional difference between the two.
N. hylas ; Underside FW veins beyond the cell blackened.
N. sappho: Underside FW veins not blackened.
