Butterflyrajib,
Your thread is closed so I am replying through another thread.
The Mycalesis in India are even more confusing than in Singapore regarding the same species.
In describing ,the inner margins of the hindwing spots form an 'indentation' a V-shape depression against the white median band.
The shape of the indentation is important in making a proper ID.
The female always have the FW spot 2 much larger.
Mycalesis mineus; outer white striae usually thin especially on the HW; white striae around the FW eyespots thin ;HW indentation fairly deep ,typically bluntly triangular.
Lower 4 eyespots in an almost straight line.
Singapore example.

Mycalesis visala.outer white striae thick; often heavy white shadings; HW indentation shallow ,its apex broadly rounded;lower 4 spots slightly out of line.
Singapore example.

Mycalesis perseus. white thin ;HW indentation wide & deep, often like a bowl; spots typically set in an arc. ;lower 4 HW spots strongly out of line.
Singapore example.

Mycalesis intermedia.; striae variable ;HW indentation a deep 'V' apex pointed. FW spot 2 always very large , touching both sides; HW lower 4 spots slightly out of line.
M. intermedia is common in Thailand . Below all Thai examples.

Mycalesis igila ;outer white striae thick; HW indenation shallow, deeper at upper 1/3; HW white band tapering downwards.
https://www.ifoundbutterflies.org/sp/900/Mycalesis-igilia
There are a few errors which has cause much confusion.
eg, below looks to be M. mineus with enhanced white striae.
The female is in front; the male behind have a shallower indentation.
Resembles M. intermedia but lower 4 HW eyespots fairly well in line.(Also out of M. intermedia's range.)

TL Seow: Cheers.
PS. Your friend's pix is a typical Mycalesis mineus.
The large FW spot 2 is well separated from the outer white striae. (Note :The lower 4 HW eyespots are slightly out of line - a variant.)
I have not dealt with dry-season forms (dsf) as I am not familiar & it is hard to say which images on the web are correct.
