An unusual (to me) because of the dark tone of blue of the upperside that attracted my attention.

considering the location, Thong Pha Phum, in the Kanchanaburi province, West Thailand, I have excluded few species present only in the Peninsula area.

Could it be J. caeruleus, or just elpis?

The underside markings are typical J. elpis.
The different blue colour is likely some minor aberration of the reflective scales.

TL Seow: Cheers.
PS. Underside of a typical male J. caeruleus.

PS2. Another variant of a male J. caeruleus.
Typically the striae are dark- shaded & poorly defined. The FW postdiscal band usually have a free hanging stria.

The darker blue & some shading of the white striae suggest J. caeruleus but the position of the straie are that of J. elpis.
Perhaps a hybrid.

Thank you.

I knew was very hard to ID. I failed to catch it to get proper identification... Jamides are so skittish...
