Dear Dr Seow,

Appreciate if you could help me ID the following 3 darts, the first 2 shot at Coney Island and the 3rd at Dairy Farm. The first looks like Full Stop Swift (Caltoris cormasa) and the 2nd a Lesser Dart (Potanthus omaha omaha. Not sure what the 3rd is.

Thanks a lot.

Best regards,
David Chan

1. Caltoris cormasa. male.
The colouration is quite typical here, ie. deep reddish brown UnH.

2. Potanthus omaha male . Ochreous brown; veins between spots more distinctly dark; abdominal end yellow.

Other similar species.
P. serina large species ;Typical with FW spot 5 smaller than spot 4; HW with a small spot 6 on inner corner of band ;abdominal end broadly black-banded.
Typical male.

Less typical with FW spot 4 & 5 almost of similar sizes.

Potanthus mingo. This is probably not as rare as thought but easily confused with P. ganda.
Veins between spots not dark; HW with outer margins of band strongly concave & usually marked by dark spots.Abdominal end broadly black-banded.
Heavily dark example.
