I am reviewing my Spindalis images and have read (and reread) a number of older notes on Butterflycircle on the separation of these two, and it still does my head in.

I would appreciate confirmation that all of the following are S. lohita (based on the width of the pale areas in the outer margins, as well as the orange tornal areas). I can actually not find any images of S. seliga in my photos which I find strange. There is a question mark over the last image which might be S. seliga?

Locations are given in the header of each image.
With thanks

1-5 . S. lohita.

6. Spidasis seliga.

The two can be very confusing.

S. lohita HW inner submarginal broad band with the upper rounded off & usually not reaching the costal margin.
FW pale marginal line not obliterated by the outer dark band & the margin.

S. seliga.
HW inner submarginal broad band reaches the costal margin ;there may be a bit of rounding off on the inner side.
FW pale submarginal line obliterated or mostly so by the dark outer submarginal band & the margin.

Many S. seliga images have a bit of doubt except this

Your no. 6 match both criteria perfectly.

TL Seow: Cheers.
