View Full Version : Two Paralaxita from Krung Ching

Two different butterflies from Krung Ching, s Thailand.
I make these either P. orphna or P. damajanti, but can find no reliable way to separate these two in the field from the literature. A search on this forum didn't find any discussion on the separation of these two. Would be very grateful for the distinctive features to separate these two.

Both are male P. orphna.

P. orphna Wings rounded.:HW with the marginal band thin & mostly reddish throughout: .FW apex may be a bit yellowish.

P. damajanti FW termen fairly straight.without yellowish shading; HW marginal band reddish in the upper half. paler & broader in lower half.

P. telesia FW termen straight, often with blue arrowheads with pale orange shading/patches distal to them; HW pale submarginal band broad ,marginal band prominent & pale in lower half.

A big problem is the large number of images on the web without stated provenance. This makes comparison very difficult.
