Given the previous confusion around D. timora, I have this image from Ko Mu Surin (islands offshore southern Thailand), which I have tentatively identified as D. timora. I now wonder if this is D. necho?

It looks to be Discophora timora.
The species is very variable.

The 4 species are rather confusing but ma ybe ID'ed thus.


a. HW ocellus 6 without a white eyelid.

a.1. FW dark discal band straight with irregular margins.]; wings more angular. D. sondaica.

a.2. FW dark discal band highly wavy or zigzag Discophora deo.

b. HW ocellus 6 with a white 'eyelid.

b.1 FW dark band thick outer margin irregular; HW ocellus 6 eyelid narrow & usually separaed from the dark band. Discophora timora.

b.2 FW dark band highly zidzag; HW ocellus 6 eyelid broader & always joined to the dark band. Discophora necho.
